"The cemetery of monsters" in Mingechevir.
The Azerbaijani biologists are to do the new discovery.

Azerbaijan is one of the ancient civilizations, and it has very rich and ancient history. Our scientists confirmed that the Azerbaijan civilization is deeply rooted. So the first tribes developed in the third millenium B.C., and the political formations in the first millenium B.C. The discovery of Azikch cavern proofed that Azerbaijan is one of the places where lived people, and belongs to the anthropogenic zone.

The culture memorials, which were found 50 years ago during the construction of the hydroelectric power station in Mingechevir confirmed that the place where Mingechevir is situated was the place of the high culture of people abode.

The discoveries invented during the archeological dig in Mingechevir went down to the world treasure as the rare pearl of culture became the exhibit of most known museums of Azerbaijan and former Soviet Union, and were included in the world science catalogues.

As result of the dam construction on Kur river not only the Samukch district and its rich woods and animals kingdom remained under water, but also the historical place of the battle between our forefathers and the Roman commander Pompei.

The recently discovered along-shore remains of animals became the confirmation that the territory of Mingechevir is the place with the rich and ancient history of fauna.

The discovered ancient cemetery of animals astonishes with its dimension.

This place was named "The cemetery of monsters" and not accidentally. The petrified remains really very big.

There are very many other cemeteries of ancient animals on the territory of Azerbaijan. For example the Gir lake in the Binnagadi.

There are many hypothesis concerning discovered animal remains. We have read very much about that how the elephants look for the cemetery for themselves before die. Did these animals went to such a place to die, or they died because of the any tragedy or natural phenomenon? Only the specialists could answer this question.

The government bodies took control of this discovery and the scientists carry out the researches in this area. This discovery is the important contribution to science not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the whole world.
